Since there has been a lot of talk about the ‘toolkit’, I assumed I should make on ‘living in India’. This is to be followed with the utmost care and only if you love your country. Otherwise, you know where you will be asked to go.
Where to live?
You can live anywhere in the country as long as you are rich. If you belong to the middle class, you can still live anywhere by making sure you don’t belong to oppressed communities. If you don’t have money or a religious advantage, it really depends on which community/gender you belong to and what political ideology you believe in.
Irrespective of this, you will definitely find a place somewhere in the country. There is no dearth of graveyards yet.
What to eat?
Since India is a free country, you can eat anything you want, at any time unless it does not offend any of the 1.3 billion people. Because if it does, you might want to reconsider your choice of death.
Getting lynched in the middle of the road is never an ideal way of saying goodbye.
Whom to marry?
Well, here you really have a choice. You can either marry the person your parents, relatives, religion, authorities, and a random dude from Uttar Pradesh wearing orange approve of or you can stay single.
Oh, there’s another choice – a new law that sends you on a dark vacation for loving somebody of a different faith. It has some good reviews.
What to do when you disagree with the government?
There are plenty of things you can do. To start with, you can raise your voice by posting on social media. You can organize events enlightening people about your disagreement. You can ask questions to your representatives. You can even make a film, write a book/article, and perform stand-up comedy to express your dissent. As a last resort, you can observe civil disobedience by protesting peacefully against the government.
The catch, however, is that it becomes difficult to do all these from prison.
Whom to vote?
I mean, are we still pretending to be in a functioning democracy?
What can you do with absolute freedom?
You can stay quiet and suffer the oppression or you can side with the establishment, help them spread hate, polarize the society, further oppress the oppressed, give up on humanity and, not to forget, be extremely proud of the past lost glory.
Very comprehensive, thanks:)
